| Description | MDM4, MDM4 regulator of p53, is an E3 ligase (PMID: 30026328) that inhibits Tp53 activity through interaction with the transcriptional activation domain of Tp53, and regulates Tp53 degradation together with Mdm2 (PMID: 23303139). MDM4 amplification leads to overexpression of Mdm4 in many cancers, including sarcoma, retinoblastoma, breast, lung, and colon cancers, as well as melanoma (PMID: 27371671), invasive lobular breast carcinoma (PMID: 31229512), Burkitt lymphoma (PMID: 31000522), fibrolamellar hepatocellular carcinoma (PMID: 31322272), and glioblastoma multiforme (PMID: 26328271). | |
